Our Mission
To positively influence the early learning and development of children through the use of relevant and appropriate musical activities.
Our Vision
To be leaders in the field of music education and make the Musical Child programs and products an integral part of early learning available to all children based on the premise that every child is a musical child.
Background
Musical Child programs were developed in 2003 in South Australia by a qualified and experienced curriculum writer. The programs are well-researched, well-written resources promoting the early learning and development of children through music.
The programs have been structured around the developmental learning stages of children aged 1-3 years and 3-5 years informed by current Australian curriculum frameworks.
The programs are implemented by a team of musically qualified presenters in child care centres, kindergartens, community centres, libraries, private homes, and at family-centred events and arts festivals.
The products are bought by early childhood professionals, teaching and training organizations, and parents.
Musical Child’s presence has enjoyed solid growth since 2003 and now includes regular presentations in locations around Adelaide and in regional centres.
The Music
Fresh arrangements of traditional songs are recorded by Carol Biddiss and Janette Porteous. The music is available as high quality instrumental backing tracks as we know children benefit by hearing live singing voices of people they enjoy.
The instruments that the children use during a session are robust, real instruments designed for young hands and chosen for their excellent sound production.
