This is usually performed as a dance. In this instance, the children can simply listen to this important melody in the children’s repertoire.  The illustration serves to focus attention on the idea of “gathering” from the ground underneath a tree.  If it happens to be the month of May when you teach this song, all the better. Although the time concept is out of reach, the sound of the word “May” is embedded waiting for meaning to be made at a later stage of development.
