This is an easy song to learn.  The rich repetition and the children’s names keep them concentrating.  This weekly contact with the set of 8 chime bars will eventually develop a consciousness of pitch differences and the corresponding colours, names numerals and sizes.  We are content with small gains in perception over the term and do not expect that children will accurately play the song. We are also developing the audience convention of quietly listening to another person.
